A passion at the crossroads of technique and creation
I am Jean-Baptiste Gueusquin, and JBG was born from my passion for watchmaking and the desire to explore its possibilities.
I have always been drawn to fields where technical precision and artistic expression meet. Trained at the École Polytechnique and Mines de Paris, it was during an internship in industry, surrounded by colleagues passionate about production technologies, that I discovered to what extent watchmaking is a world of excellence and creation.
Over the years, my curiosity grew: I immersed myself in the history of watchmaking, I studied its know-how, and I marveled at its countless subtleties.

From idea to object
Gradually, the desire to design my own models took shape—not always finding what I was looking for on the market. I then began restoring old movements, making my dials, testing textures, colors, and material effects, until I created original and unique pieces.
At the same time, my career as a senior civil servant at the Ministry of Industry introduced me to the diversity of French craftsmanship and the entrepreneurial energy that drives it. This experience, in turn, gave me the desire to bring my own project to fruition. It also confronted me with the realities of deindustrialization, which encouraged me to favor, whenever possible, components produced locally, in France and Europe.

JBG: curious and creative watchmaking
With JBG, my goal is to share these unique, handcrafted creations, custom-made and assembled in Paris. These watches stray from the beaten track and freely draw their inspiration from a variety of worlds: history, crafts, architecture, design, materials, and more.
Welcome to my cabinet of watch curiosities!
